Racism, in general.

Upon producing this blog, we, the bloggers a.k.a. the group members will discuss on the topic "Racism Among University Students".

First of all, Malaysia herself is a developing country that comprises of multi races that speaks multiple languages and the three main languages that are spoken in Malaysia are Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Cina and Bahasa Tamil. These three main races in Malaysia coexists among each other since the older days where the Malays are the biggest race here in Malaysia followed by the Chinese and the Indians. There are also other races as well such as the Bidayuh, Iban, Kadazan, Murut and many others to be named. All of these races, are combined together to form Malaysia, a multicultural country. and as usual, where there is unity, there shall always be problem. One of the main concern here is that among the multicultural people of Malaysia, there exists a problem that can arose to such a degree of disaster, called racial hatred.

As we can see, the biggest disaster that we can relate to this matter is the '13th May Tragedy'. This bloody tragedy which shows the peak of the racial hatred was brought up by the people of Malaya herself because of the lack of agreement among the people of Malaya at that time and there are huge numbers of opposition supporters which were mainly comprised of Chinese. This tragedy led to lots of bloods being spilled and the loss of properties. For more detailed information, you can refer to this, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_13_incident. This webpage explains the tragedy in detail.

All in all, we are here as the student of universities all over Malaysia, exists among one another with different culture and race background. This issue, racism, although may seem to be quite insignificant, is actually a matter of life and death as it can grow to such an immense height where it could have led to another bloody tragedy which we don't want for it to happen. I am hoping, which I really hope for it to not happen, that we can coexist in the university with peace and harmony regardless of how many races are there and not to forget that if we want to be successful, we must thrive together without having any prejudices among one another.

Thus said, Dasvidanja! :)

and thak you :D
